1 month old

<1>

Can you believe it - our little man turned one month old on Thanksgiving Day, we have so much to be thankful for!!!

We have been busy making fun family memories. We took Evan to his first tailgate party for the Auburn/GA game. He seemed to have enjoyed himself - he slept through the entire game!!! We celebrated our 1st Thanksgiving with him...and yep...took him shopping on Black Friday. We were AMAZED at how well he did. He pretty much ate and slept...occasionally he would wake up and check out the crazy surroundings! Jason's biggest memory for Evan is that he has been here to see Auburn defeat Alabama...and be #1 - not just once...but TWICE!

Evan is not completely sleeping through the night, yet...but we are hoping that will be coming soon! His 1 month well-baby check-up went well. He weight 12 lbs 4/5 oz and was 21.5 inches. He is growing so fast. He is beginning to crack smiles here and there and is becoming more alert during the day. He enjoys his swing, bouncy seat, tummy time, and his activity gym. He is a very happy baby that, thus far is very easy going. We don't have too much fussy time - usually when he is hungry, dirty, or just fighting sleep, but we are able to solve those issues!!!

There are not enough words to express how in love we are with our son. He brings so much joy to our home. It is so amazing to watch him. We are so excited about this new addition to our family and all the fun memories we will make!

We appreciate all your love, support, and prayers!!!

The Past two weeks!!!

Wow!!! What was life like without our little man. He has brought so much joy to our hearts, home, and family. I truly could not imagine a child more precious than ours. He is such a good, sweet boy!!!
The past two weeks have been such a whirlwind, with us all getting used to our new routines, sleep patterns, feedings, and travels. We have had our battles with getting Evan back up to birth weight but at our last visit (Nov. 11th) the doctor announced we had met and exceeded the birth weight...Evan is now 10 lbs 4.5 oz. Praise God!!! He is healthy and doing great. We go back for his 1 month check up on November 24th.

We had Evan's Newborn pictures made last week. He did so good. He was just precious!!! As you can see from the picture that our friend Jennifer did an AMAZING job. She is so talented!!!

Evan's Arrival Story

On Monday (Oct 25th) morning, I woke up around 6:30 thinking that my water had broken. (being new to this I wasn't quite sure what exactly was going on) Jason and I decided that we would pack the car and head on to the doctor's office since we had an early morning appointment. The doctor checked and confirmed that indeed my water was "leaking" and that I was 3 cm dilated but not in active labor. Dr. Grilliot sent us on the hospital. Jason and already called the parents to put on stand-by now he made the call to let them know we would indeed have our son within 24 hours.

We got registered and settled-in by 9:15. Around 10:00 they began the IV and Pitocin to start the labor process. By 12:45ish the nurse confirmed I was 6 cm and it was time for the epidural. Things progressed quickly and after 20 minutes of pushing our little bundle of joy, Evan Banks, arrived at 2:07 pm. He weighed in at 9lbs 12 oz and is 21 inches long. He is a very happy and healthy baby. We were surrounded by our friends and family.

We came home Tuesday (Oct 26th) evening and are doing great and getting adjusted to our new addition to the family. He brings so much joy to our lives. It is so amazing to watch him grow and change everyday. We are two very proud parents!

We are so grateful for all the thoughts and prayers that you all have showered us with. We continue to ask for prayers as we continue through this new chapter in our lives!
