1 month old

<1>

Can you believe it - our little man turned one month old on Thanksgiving Day, we have so much to be thankful for!!!

We have been busy making fun family memories. We took Evan to his first tailgate party for the Auburn/GA game. He seemed to have enjoyed himself - he slept through the entire game!!! We celebrated our 1st Thanksgiving with him...and yep...took him shopping on Black Friday. We were AMAZED at how well he did. He pretty much ate and slept...occasionally he would wake up and check out the crazy surroundings! Jason's biggest memory for Evan is that he has been here to see Auburn defeat Alabama...and be #1 - not just once...but TWICE!

Evan is not completely sleeping through the night, yet...but we are hoping that will be coming soon! His 1 month well-baby check-up went well. He weight 12 lbs 4/5 oz and was 21.5 inches. He is growing so fast. He is beginning to crack smiles here and there and is becoming more alert during the day. He enjoys his swing, bouncy seat, tummy time, and his activity gym. He is a very happy baby that, thus far is very easy going. We don't have too much fussy time - usually when he is hungry, dirty, or just fighting sleep, but we are able to solve those issues!!!

There are not enough words to express how in love we are with our son. He brings so much joy to our home. It is so amazing to watch him. We are so excited about this new addition to our family and all the fun memories we will make!

We appreciate all your love, support, and prayers!!!

The Past two weeks!!!

Wow!!! What was life like without our little man. He has brought so much joy to our hearts, home, and family. I truly could not imagine a child more precious than ours. He is such a good, sweet boy!!!
The past two weeks have been such a whirlwind, with us all getting used to our new routines, sleep patterns, feedings, and travels. We have had our battles with getting Evan back up to birth weight but at our last visit (Nov. 11th) the doctor announced we had met and exceeded the birth weight...Evan is now 10 lbs 4.5 oz. Praise God!!! He is healthy and doing great. We go back for his 1 month check up on November 24th.

We had Evan's Newborn pictures made last week. He did so good. He was just precious!!! As you can see from the picture that our friend Jennifer did an AMAZING job. She is so talented!!!

Evan's Arrival Story

On Monday (Oct 25th) morning, I woke up around 6:30 thinking that my water had broken. (being new to this I wasn't quite sure what exactly was going on) Jason and I decided that we would pack the car and head on to the doctor's office since we had an early morning appointment. The doctor checked and confirmed that indeed my water was "leaking" and that I was 3 cm dilated but not in active labor. Dr. Grilliot sent us on the hospital. Jason and already called the parents to put on stand-by now he made the call to let them know we would indeed have our son within 24 hours.

We got registered and settled-in by 9:15. Around 10:00 they began the IV and Pitocin to start the labor process. By 12:45ish the nurse confirmed I was 6 cm and it was time for the epidural. Things progressed quickly and after 20 minutes of pushing our little bundle of joy, Evan Banks, arrived at 2:07 pm. He weighed in at 9lbs 12 oz and is 21 inches long. He is a very happy and healthy baby. We were surrounded by our friends and family.

We came home Tuesday (Oct 26th) evening and are doing great and getting adjusted to our new addition to the family. He brings so much joy to our lives. It is so amazing to watch him grow and change everyday. We are two very proud parents!

We are so grateful for all the thoughts and prayers that you all have showered us with. We continue to ask for prayers as we continue through this new chapter in our lives!

Our bags are packed, the car seat is getting put in the car today! We are ready and waiting. We can't wait to meet our precious little one.

Our Little Man will be here soon......

Well, we are truly in the home-stretch now. As of today, I am 32 weeks and 2 days. Just under 8 weeks until the due date of our Little Man!!!

We have completed many tasks preparing our home for him. The nursery is complete, the pack-n-play is set up in our room, and even his bag is packed. We have been so blessed by so many friends and family with all the wonderful gifts they have showered us with. THANK YOU!!!

In our last posting we announced the life verse we chose for Evan. If you notice in the photo above - his painting (done by his Aunt Kim!) is hanging above his crib. It is so awesome!!! Aunt Kim did a FANTASTIC job. We can't thank you enough for your amazing work and all the love you put into it...We love you!!!

We went to the doctor today - this makes doctor visit # 6. We will now go every two weeks. Our next visit is September 13th. Today Evan's heart rate was 145.

Love to you all!

Can you believe how the time is flying by???

I am now 28 weeks and 2 days (the picture above was taken today)...just under 12 weeks remain until our precious little one arrives. We are anxiously anticipating the day we get to hold him in our arms.

Today we had a doctors appointment. Baby Evan's heart rate was 140. The doctor says everything is right on track. I have no BP issues or swelling concerns - which is a blessing with all this heat!!! We go back on August 31st.

So over the last month - we have begun getting his room ready. It is still a gradual work in progress but it is coming along nicely. We have the crib put together, bedding washed, and the bed made! Once the room is completely put together I will post pics.

During the time we also decided that it would be great for this little guy to have a life verse. So prayfull, askedGod for just the right verse to lead out little angel through his life. A verse from Jeremiah was laid on our hearts. This verse if very dear to us both because we clung to it as we were going through infertility.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.

We are having this painted to be hung above his bed. It is going to be a constant reminder that the Lord has very specific plans for Evan's life. We are just the ones who are blessed to be his earthly parents!

Well - until next time...hugs to you all!!

Today we went to the doctor. Everything checked out well. Little Man's heart rate was 149.

So, the annoucement you have all been waiting for...Baby T's name. After much discussion, and reading through books, and asking about family names...we have made a decision.

EVAN BANKS TEMPLETON

Just a little history on the name...Jason found the name in a baby book..he loved the meaning...Little Warrior (Irish). I too loved the name and did some homework on the name Evan and learned that in English it was dervived from John and means God is gracious - very appropriate!!! Also the Hebrew meaning for Evan is ROCK! So our Little Guy has a pretty strong name. Banks is a family name on the Templeton side.

We are so excited to meet Evan and learn all about his little personality. I can tell you this - he is already beginning traits like his father - he LOVES music. He just squirms around when he hears music...and he likes to play 1:30 am soccer/football games!!!

I am loving every minute of feeling him move around. He is such a precious gift from God.

Love to you all!!!

IT'S A......

Today we had an ultrasound. We were so excited and could not wait to see our little one again. It seems so long since our first ultrasound...which was at 7 weeks 6 days. I am now 20 weeks and 6 days...just over half-way!!!

We had discussed not finding out the sex - but Jason was so excited and anxious - he just had to find out. To be honest - I am sooo glad we did. When we got there this morning - the ultrasound tech asked if we wanted and Jason said "Oh yeah!"

As the Tech searched a round she announced......"It's a BOY!!!" Jason's jaw dropped because he was just sure it was a girl....but that smile on his face was PRICELESS. (for Baby T's sake - we will not post the picture confirming that he is a boy - you can take my word - the Tech said she was 100% - haha)

Now our venture begins on deciding on our Little Guy's name - for now we are sticking with Baby T. We will keep you posted once a decision is final.

Oh and the due date has been changed to October 24th.

Hugs to you all.

Hello Everyone ~

We have decided to start this blog to keep everyone abreast of how Baby T is doing and to be able to share in the events once Little One arrives.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
March 8th:
Our 1st doctor visit - we had an ultrasound to see our little Peanut and hear the sweet heart beat.
April 5th:
Doctor visit #2 - everything was good - heart rate was 172.
May 10th:
Visit # 3 - Again - everything checked out - heart rate was 157. Dr. Zeller explained that babies usually sleep 45 minutes out of an hour and heart rates flutuate based on what mommy and baby are or have been doing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We return for Visit # 4 of June 7th - they will do another ultrasound and if we want we can find out the gender. At this point - we are leaning to having the SUPRISE at delivery...yeah!!!

As for Mommy and Daddy - we are still on cloud 9 and will probably remain there for a while! We are doing great and just enjoying the busyness this time of year is bringing. We appreciate all your prayers that have been answered in this Miracle we have been given and for the prayers you continue to shower our family with.

Stay tuned for more information to come!!!
